Literature Text

There was a contraption of some kind, a red ship that seemed to be about as big as a small room, from which smoke bellowed ominously. With the smoke from the fire still behind them, emanating from the town of Salem, Rory and Jason slowly approached the red hunk of metal. Something on the top began to turn, releasing steam from the inside.
“Hey! You two! You need to-” Melody’s sharp voice interrupted the ominous tone of the moment, until she herself noticed the odd impact. “…What is that?” she finished, abandoning her previous train of thought completely.
The top shot off into the trees, narrowly missing Melody’s head as she ducked in surprise.
While usually she’d get ticked, Melody was too in awe of the ship to say any words, as were Jason and Rory. As the interior of the ship was exposed, a devilish figure of dark red skin arose from the dark, purple smoke flooding out of the ship along with him.
“Aha!” the figure bellowed, the two horns on the side of his head shining in the moonlight, “I have finally made contact with a planet! I can finally begin the colonization process!”
Melody had at this point joined Rory and Jason, much closer to the ship. Hearing the sound of footsteps, the figure turned around to face the three.
“You! Our invasion will not be spoiled by you slimy creatures!” he shouted.
The three still stood silently, mouths gaping, looking at each other in astonishment.
“Uh, hello?” the devil stepped down from the ship onto the green grass. “Do you know who you’re dealing with?! I’m Nero! You should be quaking in fear!” The purple smoke seeped forwards ever closer to Rory, Melody, and Jason.
As Nero stepped forwards again, a flash of indescribable color, different than anything seen by the visible human spectrum, engulfed both him and his ship as they vanished instantly, but the purple smoke was pushed outwards suddenly by the force of the portal’s temporary appearance, and proceeded to engulf the three confused bystanders in its celestial quintessence.
Spoiler alert- that purple gas stuff should be familiar in a lot of ways.
